Training With Heart Rate And Pace

Pace refers to the activity rate or movement rate whereas heart rate can be measured as number of contractions for someone's heart in one minute. Heart rate and pace have positive correlation which means that higher pace leads to higher measurement of heart rate. Using both these rates in training may prove to be helpful for a person to improve his/her performance, track fitness and progress over time and avoid over-training.

Measuring Heart Rate & Heart Rate Zones

There are different ways in which heart rate can be measured. You can do everything from using heart rate monitors to just looking at your watch and measuring your pulse at a peripheral point like neck or wrist. Among the notable heart rate measurements are the maximum heart rate and resting heart rate. They are used often for estimating particular heart rate zones in order to find out different exercise levels.

Typically, the resting heart rates in adults range between 60 to 100 beats in a minute. However, some say that normal RHR value should be between 50-90 bpm. Lower RHR levels mean the heart is functioning efficiently while RHR values below 50 bpm may indicate some underlying disease or heart condition. The same stands true for anything that is above 90 bpm.

How This Pace Calculator Works?

The pace calculator comprises of several individual calculators that can be used for their own unique purposes. The simple pace calculator can be used for calculating pace, distance and time. You have to select the appropriate tab for each and then enter two of the three values. For instance, if you have to estimate the pace, you will have to enter time and distance values. Distance can be entered in different units and you have to select an appropriate one from the list. As you hit the calculate button, the calculator shows the pace results for different units.

Now, if you want to calculate time taken, you have to enter distance and pace values for performing the calculation. Similarly, for calculating distance, pace and time values must be provided.

Next, there is finish time calculator. The calculator requires three values including distance so far, time taken for covering this distance, and the full distance that has to be covered. Hit the calculate button and the pace calculator will tell you how much time you will need for completing the desired distance. The values are specified in several units for time and distance.

Finally, there is multipoint pace calculator. This calculator requires you to enter up to 12 different distance and time values. Enter as many as you have and then select the preferred unit for pace from the list at the bottom. Hit calculate button and the result will be shown in tabular form. The table shows distance, time, pace and accumulated pace values for your provided information. So, use this pace calculator and get all such information regarding your pace and activity.
